Govett-Brewster Gallery is New Zealand's leading contemporary art museum and home to the collection of modernist filmmaker and kinetic sculptor Len Lye.
From the beginning of the project Govett-Brewster staff were enthusiastic to deliver a visitor centred virtual space where the spirit of the gallery is experienced via the website. The site is packed with great content, beautiful images and useful tools to help achieve this vision.
The website contains blogs where people can engage in discussion about contemporary art online, an events calendar including a complete history of exhibitions held since Govett-Brewster opened in 1970, and video of artists talking about their work, amongst other features.
In addition the entire Govett-Brewster Gallery Collection is now available to browse and search online.
