"Working with McGovern Online to develop the Chartwell website meant that our ideas and ambitions were closely listened to, enabling them to be developed and enriched further through the experience of the McGovern team, who not only took the time to really understand what our audience wanted but who delivered a series of smart solutions to our particular image rich needs. We were thrilled with the outcome."

The Chartwell Collection of contemporary art from New Zealand and Australia is held on long term loan at the Auckland Art Gallery, Toi O Tamaki in Auckland, New Zealand, since 1997.

The searchable digital collection is currently held in Auckland Art Gallery’s Vernon System database and is accessible via the Auckland Art Gallery website. However, the collection's owners also wanted a stand alone website that would introduce the collection to the art loving public and to curators seeking artworks for exhibition.

Artwork details on the website include the formal classifications employed by art professionals such as curators, but non professional art lovers who prefer to use less formal criteria to experience the collection can classify the works by tagging images with their own keywords.

In addition contextual links to other sources are gathered from DigitalNZ, which aggregates New Zealand digital content from a range of content providers.
